What this one is for
Twenty inches is the size to buy for a deep-seated or oversized sofa, where standard 18 inch cushions sit too low against a tall back and look like an afterthought. The rule of thumb is that a cushion should fill roughly two-thirds of the height of the sofa back; on a big piece, that means 20 rather than 18.
Mustard at this scale is a commitment. A 20 inch square of saturated yellow is a large area of color, so it works best in a room that is otherwise plain, and it is generally too much next to a patterned rug or a busy wall. Two of them on a plain gray sectional is the arrangement it was drawn for.
