Lighting in AELS home decor
Light changes a room before anything else does. A new shade on an old lamp changes the color of the glow on the whole table, and a small lamp tucked between books turns a shelf into a place to read. Our lighting is designed around those small, high-impact changes.
Floral drum shades are linen blends on a spider fitter, sold in pairs because matching bedside lamps are the most common reason anyone replaces a shade. The printed pattern softens and warms the light.
On the shelf
Cordless bookshelf lamps sit between books, run without a cable and look like part of the library. Macrame bookends keep a row upright and add organic texture to straight lines of spines. Each was created to share space with our frames and baskets.
Materials and shapes
Linen blends, metal frames, wood and brass-toned finishes are the materials here. Straight drums spread light evenly; tapered shades push it down onto a book. Simple shapes keep the design contemporary, and a little contrast between dark wood and a pale shade strikes the right balance.
