Changing covers is the cheapest redesign a living room can have. Our pillow covers are made for that job: they slip over the inserts you already own, close on a zip hidden in the bottom seam, and come off for the wash in a minute. Everything in this range is sold as the cover only, and the first line of each page says so.

We design them around texture rather than loud pattern. Raised chenille stripes, bouclé panels and woven checks catch side light, so a neutral color still has depth and a little contrast from across the room.

Color and stripes

Beige with rust, olive or dark brown stripes; cream bouclé; navy and white outdoor stripes. A stripe can run with the sofa or across it, and a lumbar cover at 12 x 20 adds one horizontal band in front of two squares — the arrangement most designers start from. Mixing one striped cover with two plain ones strikes the easiest balance.

Covers for contemporary rooms

Contemporary sofas are often a single flat color with clean, boxy shapes, and that is where a textured cover earns its space. The raised chenille reads almost like an abstract piece of art in thread; the woven slub of linen gives an organic, handmade feel. It is an unexpected amount of beauty for something that zips on in a minute, and closer to soft sculpture than to a print. Think of the sofa as the canvas and the covers as the artist’s last layer — no cutouts, no slogans, just texture and tone.

Materials and fit

Linen blends with polyester for strength, chenille for the raised stripe, outdoor fabrics for porch furniture. Buy an insert the same size as the cover, or one inch larger for a fuller look. Pouf and chair covers are created to the furniture sizes listed on each page.

Care

Wash cold and inside out, skip the bleach and dry flat or low. The experience of a freshly washed cover on an old cushion is half the reason people love this range.
