Botanical throw pillows
Flowers and foliage worked into the fabric itself, in the muted palette that lets a pillow sit in a room all year.
A printed flower is a picture of a flower. An embroidered one has thread standing off the surface, catching light from the side and casting a shadow of its own, which is why these read as texture from across a room and as detail from arm's length. It is the difference between a cushion that looks like a photograph and one that looks like a fabric.
The palette here is deliberately quiet: creams, sages, dried-stem browns and the occasional yellow. Botanical motifs date faster than almost anything else in a room when the color is loud, and slower than almost anything when it is not. Every pillow in this range arrives filled and ready to use, so there is no insert to buy separately.
Embroidery and tufting are worked on the face only. Wash on a gentle cycle, and dry flat rather than in the dryer if the design has raised stitching, which keeps the thread standing up instead of matting into the ground fabric.
