What this one is for

The tufted arches from our cushion covers, scaled up onto a cube. On an 18 inch face the pattern has room to be seen properly, which makes this the pouf that works as an object in its own right rather than as a place to put your feet that happens to match the sofa.

Burnt orange is a strong choice and belongs in a room that can carry it: cream walls, natural wood, dark green or navy upholstery. Against a beige carpet it turns muddy. It is also the color that most benefits from the tufting, because the raised loops break the surface up and stop a large block of orange from looking flat.

Cover only, no filling supplied. Stuff it with blankets, towels, old clothes or soft toys, working into the corners first so the cube keeps its shape. Machine wash cold and separately once it is empty again, no bleach, tumble dry low; the cotton tufting is the part that objects to heat.
