Three nesting boxes shaped like books, 11.3, 10 and 8.6 inches long, decorated inside and out and closed with magnetic lids.
Description
Decorators stack books under a vase because a flat shelf needs a step in it, and real books are heavy, mismatched and covered in the wrong spines. These three are hollow: the stack gives you the height and the color scheme you wanted, and the inside of each one is a box with a lid.
The sizes nest, at 11.3 by 9.3 by 2.8 inches, 10 by 7.9 by 2.4 and 8.6 by 6.4 by 2.1, so the three stack into a tapered pile that looks arranged rather than piled. Magnetic closures hold each lid shut, which is what lets the stack be carried to another room without the contents sliding out of it.
What goes inside tends to be the small clutter a decorated room generates: ornament hooks, spare bulbs, cards, letters, photographs, keys, a few keepsakes. The detailing runs over the covers and the interiors both, so an open box on a coffee table still looks styled rather than caught out.
