These come as finished pillows, not covers: the eco-friendly PP cotton filling is already inside and nothing has to be bought to go with them. They are vacuum packed to travel, so the first job is to take each one out, shake it, then knead and pull at the filling to loosen it, and leave the pair sitting out for 24 to 48 hours before judging the shape.

Sage green with cream white is the pairing for a room that does not want to turn scarlet. The tree silhouette is unmistakable on its own, so the two colors are free to behave like neutrals, which is why the pair sits on a gray sofa or a linen bed without taking the room over and still looks deliberate in deep winter once the ornaments are packed away.

The face is a soft striped faux fur with a plush pile, and every pillow is finished by hand, so the two in a pair are close rather than identical and the size varies slightly from one to the next. Machine wash cold and separately, do not bleach, tumble dry low. On a couch, a made bed or an office chair it works as a cushion as much as a decoration.
