An 8 x 10 arch in black with a gold bead running round the opening: the frame that gives a print the outline of a window.
Description
The arched top is what separates this from our square-shouldered 8 x 10s. Hung among rectangles it becomes the piece the eye starts from, which is why we suggest it as the anchor of a gallery wall rather than one of the fillers.
Black and gold is the highest-contrast finish we cast, so it suits black-and-white photography and botanical prints with a pale ground. The beading is cast in, not glued on, and the frame stands or hangs either way up.
