Vintage Christmas Picture Frame, 4 x 6 in, Green with Gold Trim

Description

There is no tree, no bow and no holly on this frame. The holiday reading comes entirely from the color pairing of deep green and gold, which is the practical difference between this family and our motif frames: nothing on it dates to a particular time of year, so the same frame that joins a Christmas mantel in winter is simply an ornate green frame for the rest of it.

The ornament is in the molding. Vintage-style relief with a brushed finish gives it a refined European character, cast in durable polyresin with a hand-finished look that keeps the detail sharp in the deep parts instead of letting it fill in. At 4 by 6 it takes a standard photo lab print with no cropping and no mat.

Clear stain-resistant glass guards the print, children's artwork or whatever else ends up in it against dust, fingerprints and everyday handling. Both an easel stand and built-in metal hanging hooks are there, so it stands on a tabletop or hangs on a wall in either orientation, and the easy-open backing makes a change of photograph a one-minute job.
