Vintage Christmas Picture Frame, 4 x 6 in, Red with Gold Trim

Description

Red with gold trim is the oldest combination in holiday decorating and the one that needs no motif to explain itself. Like the green, this frame carries no tree and no holly, so what you get is an ornate antique-style frame in a festive color, which is a very different object from a frame with Christmas cast into the border.

Four by six is the smallest of the three red sizes we make and the one that goes into the gaps: a bedside table, a desk, the free space at the end of a bookshelf, a kitchen windowsill. It is also the size to buy several of if the plan is a cluster rather than a centerpiece, since a group of small ornate frames reads as a collection.

The relief is cast in durable polyresin with a hand-finished brushed look, under clear stain-resistant glass. An easel stand and built-in metal hooks cover both tabletop and wall, vertically or horizontally, and the easy-open backing means swapping prints does not involve bending tabs back and forth until they break.
