An eight-sided 8 by 10 frame in gold and black, with the corners taken off the rectangle and ornate relief all round.
Description
Hang enough rectangles in rows and the wall stops being a group of photographs and becomes a pattern. One frame with a different outline fixes that, and an octagon is the shape that does it without going soft: the four cut corners are a deliberate piece of geometry rather than a circle dropped into a grid.
At 8 by 10 the cut corners are long enough to register from the other side of a room, which is why this works better large than small. Gold over black keeps the outline legible, because the brushed highlight runs along every one of the eight edges and draws the shape even when the photograph inside is dark.
Underneath, it is built like the rest of the range: durable polyresin with a hand-finished look for the intricate detail, clear stain-resistant glass, an easel stand for a shelf and metal hooks for hanging vertically or horizontally, and an easy-open backing so the picture can be swapped in a minute.
