Description
Two and a half by three and a half inches is wallet size, which is the size of the photographs people actually carried: a school portrait, a strip from a booth, an old print trimmed down to fit a purse. Almost nothing is made to frame those, and that is why they stay in drawers.
The scale also solves a surface problem. A nightstand with a lamp, a book and a glass on it has no room for a 5 by 7, while something this small tucks in at the front without being in the way, and a pair of them on a windowsill or a bathroom shelf works where one larger frame would look parked.
Off-white with gold trim is the lightest finish in the range, so the frame does not sit on a pale surface as a dark spot. The oval window crops the corners of the print, and the back carries both an easel stand and built-in metal hanging hooks, with a backing that opens for photo changes.
