The warmer metallic in our 5 by 7 rectangle: golden bronze across the whole molding, with ornate cast relief.
Description
Gold in the mix changes how a frame behaves after dark. Under a table lamp or a candle, golden bronze lifts and the brushed high points pick up the flame, which is why this one tends to end up on mantels, sideboards and hall tables rather than on a desk under daylight from a window.
It is the finish to pick for photographs that are already warm: album scans gone amber with age, a shot taken at the end of the afternoon, a print with wood and skin tones in it. The 5 by 7 opening is rectangular, so a standard print goes in whole and nothing at the corners is lost to the shape.
Cast polyresin, hand-finished so the European-style ornament keeps its edges, clear stain-resistant glass, and a backing that opens without tools. Both an easel stand and metal hooks are built in, so where it ends up living is not a decision you have to make at the moment of buying.
