What this one is for
This is the only large frame here finished in a single metallic rather than a color with a gold edge, and the effect is completely different. With no contrast between the field and the trim, the whole molding reads as one piece of aged gilt, which is the look of a gallery frame rather than a decorative one, and it flatters printed art far more than it flatters a snapshot.
Put an old map, a botanical print, a page from a book or a small painting behind the glass and the frame does what gilt frames have always done: it separates the image from the wall and tells the eye that what is inside is worth looking at. A family photograph in it will look formal, which may or may not be what you want.
The 8 by 10 opening is rectangular, so nothing is cropped. Cast in durable polyresin with a hand-finished surface that keeps the deep carving legible, fronted with clear stain-resistant glass, with an easel stand, metal hooks for either orientation, and an easy-open back.
