Vintage Rose Garland Picture Frame, 5 x 7 in, Gold and Green

Description

The same garland on green stops being formal and turns botanical. Gold roses over a green ground behave the way a flower behaves against a leaf, so the border looks like planting rather than gilding, and the frame lands on dressers, bedroom shelves and anywhere there are real plants standing next to it.

It follows that the photograph should be a warm one. A garden, a bunch of flowers, a summer afternoon, a child outdoors: pictures with daylight and green in them carry the border on instead of ignoring it. The opening is a standard 5 by 7 rectangle, so prints go in uncropped and portrait or landscape both work.

Cast in durable polyresin and hand-finished so each rose keeps its edge, with clear stain-resistant glass over the print. The back has an easel stand and metal hanging hooks built in, and opens easily when you want a different picture behind the glass.
