Linen Blend Pillow Covers, 18 x 18 in, Set of 2, Beige and Terracotta

Description

Covers only at 18 by 18 inches, with no inserts in the package. The zipper is hidden in the bottom seam and the trick is always the same: fold the insert in half, push it through, then unfold it inside and press it out into the four corners. A 20 inch insert gives the fullest face, an 18 a softer and slouchier one.

Terracotta is the clay end of warm rather than the red end. In daylight it reads pink-orange and slightly dusty, which is why it works in a room of cream walls, raw plaster, pale oak and unglazed pots, where a deeper brown-red would look like it had been brought in from a darker house entirely.

On a beige ground that tone does its work quietly. The stripe is chenille woven in as a jacquard, so it stands off the surface and changes with the light through the day, going warmer in late sun and dustier under a north-facing window. It is a color that behaves differently at four in the afternoon than it does at nine in the morning.

The cloth is 97 percent polyester with 3 percent linen, giving the slub of linen without the pressing. Hidden zipper along the bottom seam, machine wash cold and separately, do not bleach, tumble dry low.
