Textured Pillow Covers, 16 x 16 in, Set of 2, Taupe

Description

Sixteen inches is a chair size, not a sofa size, and that is the useful thing about it. In a wing chair or a small two-seater an 18 inch cushion fills the angle of the back and pushes the person sitting there forward onto the front of the seat, while a 16 settles into the corner and leaves room to actually sit back.

The face is a printed crosshatch that imitates a woven cloth while the fabric underneath stays completely smooth. It is worth being plain about that: this is not a weave, it is a print that reads as one from a couple of feet away, and what you get in return is a soft velvety hand and a surface with nothing on it to snag.

Taupe is the most neutral color we print it in, a gray-brown that does not take a side between warm and cool rooms. That makes it the base layer rather than the accent: a pair of taupe 16s under a patterned cushion or beside a bolder color is the arrangement it was drawn for, and it is the pair that still works when the room is redecorated.

Covers only, inserts not included. A 17 or 18 inch insert gives the fullest face in a 16 inch cover; the hidden zipper is in the bottom seam, so fold the insert in half, push it through and unfold it inside to fill out the corners properly.
