Twenty-two inches is a size bought for a particular problem: a deep sectional or a wide bed where standard cushions sit too low and look like they belong to a smaller piece of furniture. A cushion should fill roughly two thirds of the height of the back it leans on, and on a big sofa that means 22 rather than 18.

Covers only, no inserts included. At this size the insert choice shows: a 24 inch insert in a 22 inch cover gives a firm, square, filled cushion, while a 22 inch insert leaves the corners soft and the face slightly hollow. On a large sofa the fuller version usually looks better simply because there is more of it on view.

Olive green across a 22 inch face is a serious area of color, and muted is what makes that workable. A saturated green at this scale would run the room; a gray-yellow green behaves like upholstery instead, so the pair fills out a big sofa without becoming the first thing anybody comments on when they walk in.

The face is a crosshatch printed onto a smooth cloth, imitating a weave without being one, with a soft velvety hand. The zipper is invisible along the bottom seam: fold the insert in half to get it through and open it out inside so the corners fill properly.
