Vintage Bow Picture Frame, 8 x 10 in, Bronze

Description

An arrangement made entirely of gold frames floats. There is nothing in it with any visual weight, so the group never settles and the wall keeps showing through between the pieces. One or two bronze frames fix that: bronze is dark enough to anchor a corner of the grid and warm enough that it still belongs to the same family as the gold.

This is the rectangular one, which matters more than it sounds. The opening takes a full 8 by 10 print with nothing lost off the corners, so it is the frame for a group photograph, a certificate or a piece of art that needs all four of its edges, and it lines up square against the other rectangles around it.

The bow above the opening gives the frame a top, and a top is useful in a group: an ornament that only works one way up stops a row of frames from looking randomly oriented. Polyresin with a brushed, hand-finished surface, clear stain-resistant glass, an easel stand and metal hanging hooks, and a back that opens without tools.
