Antique Gold Skeleton Key Wall Art, Bronze and Dark Brown

Description

A wall of photographs starts to read as paperwork once there are more than six of them, because every object on it is the same thing: a rectangle of glass with a picture behind it. This is the piece that breaks that pattern. Keys mounted inside a frame are a sculpture rather than a print, and from across the room they register as texture.

The piece is 3D and wall-mounted, made of resin, hand-painted and finished with graceful emblems, which is why the gold reads as old metal instead of spray paint. Antique gold does something specific in a group: it picks up whatever lamp is nearest and goes slightly warm, so it ties together frames that are gold, brass or bronze and stays quiet against the dark ones.

There is a hanging hook already on the back, so it goes up on a single nail the same way a frame does, which is what you want when it is joining an arrangement rather than taking an empty wall. Entryways, hallways and studies suit it best, because those are the places people pass close enough to see the detail.
