What this one is for
Off-white is the finish for rooms that are already light. A black frame on a cream wall reads as a dark rectangle first and a photograph second; an off-white one lets the picture be the only dark thing in the composition, with the gold trim providing just enough edge that the frame does not vanish entirely.
The opening is oval, and that is worth understanding before you order the print: the photo is 4 by 4, but the oval crops the corners, so anything important at the edge of the frame will be lost. It suits a face or a single subject in the middle and does not suit a group shot or a landscape.
It is cast in polyresin with a hand-finished look that keeps the carved detail sharp, and covered with clear stain-resistant glass that keeps fingerprints off the print. Easel stand and metal hooks are both built into the back, and the back itself opens easily when you want to change the picture.
