What this one is for
Sage is the color in this range that behaves like a neutral. It is gray enough not to compete with anything and green enough to agree with foliage, which is why it lands on shelves that already hold plants, on wooden furniture and in rooms painted in the soft, chalky colors that have replaced plain white. Next to a real leaf it looks intentional rather than matched.
