A rectangular 5 by 7 in black, with ornate cast relief under a brushed finish, sized for a standard print.
Description
Most people buying this one already own black frames, and the job is to add to them without disturbing anything. Named simply black, it reads from the room as part of the set rather than as a new arrival, so it extends a grid on a wall or a run along a shelf instead of starting a second conversation.
What it does not do is disappear. The relief is cast deep enough to throw a shadow and the finish is brushed rather than flat, so close up the molding has light in it, which is the difference between a decorative frame and the thin black rectangle a print comes home in.
A standard 5 by 7 print goes in uncropped. Durable polyresin with intricate hand-finished detail, clear stain-resistant glass, an easel stand and built-in metal hanging hooks for vertical or horizontal use, and a backing that opens without tools.
