A 5 by 7 frame in green and gold whose molding runs as a continuous twisted ribbon around the opening.
Description
Most ornate frames load their decoration into the corners and leave the sides plain. The ribbon twist runs the whole way round instead, so the border reads as one turning band with no beginning and no end, and the effect is softer and more rhythmic than carved scrollwork manages to be.
That continuity makes it a good frame for a photograph with movement in it: a wedding, dancing, a child mid-run, anything that a stiff right-angled border would make look penned in. Green with gold on the raised turns keeps it warm, and the twist catches the light differently along each side as you cross the room.
The opening is a plain 5 by 7 rectangle, so a standard print goes in uncropped. Durable polyresin, hand-finished for the fine detail, clear stain-resistant glass, an easel stand and metal hooks for either orientation, and a back that opens without tools.
