A rectangular 5 by 7 in black and gold, where two tones are the point and the gold does the matching.
Description
A two-tone finish is a matching tool. On a shelf that already carries a brass lamp, a candlestick or the gilt edge of a mirror, the gold in this frame picks those up and the black grounds it, so the whole surface looks arranged rather than assembled one object at a time.
That makes it a different proposition from a frame named for a single color. Here the gold is half the finish rather than a trim, so from across the room you see two tones and an ornate outline, and the frame can carry a shelf on its own without a group of others gathered around it.
The 5 by 7 opening is rectangular, so a standard print goes in with nothing cropped. Durable polyresin with a hand-finished look, clear stain-resistant glass, both an easel stand and built-in metal hanging hooks for either orientation, and an easy-open backing.
