A 5 by 7 rectangle in green with silver rather than gold on the raised edges, in ornate cast polyresin.
Description
Every other two-tone frame we make is finished with gold, and gold has to live with whatever metal is already in the room. If the lamps are chrome, the handles are nickel and there is glass on the shelf, silver is the trim that matches rather than the one you put up with, and this is the only green we finish that way.
The pairing reads cooler and more current than green and gold, which pushes it toward studies, home offices and open shelving rather than period rooms. Silver edges draw the ornament as a bright line, so the detail is read as line work rather than as gilding, and the green behind it stays quiet.
Behind the clear stain-resistant glass the opening is a plain rectangle, so a standard 5 by 7 print goes in uncropped. Durable polyresin with a hand-finished look, an easel stand and built-in metal hanging hooks for either orientation, and an easy-open back.
