The same corner-scrolled 5 by 7 finished in green with gold: lower contrast, and quieter on a dark surface.
Description
Swap the black ground for green and the contrast drops. The gold scrolls no longer jump forward as bright corners against a dark field; they settle into the molding, and the frame reads as one soft object instead of an outline with a picture in it. On a walnut sideboard or in front of a row of book spines that is the behavior you want.
It is the version for rooms that already have color in them: a dining room with deep paint, a study with leather in it, a hallway with a patterned runner. Stand it beside the black and gold at the same size and the two read as a considered pair rather than a matching set, because the ornament is identical and the mood is not.
A standard 5 by 7 print fits the rectangular opening uncropped. Durable polyresin with hand finishing to keep the scrollwork crisp, clear stain-resistant glass, an easel stand and cast-in metal hooks, and a back that opens without tools for photo changes.
