Description

The hinges are the design. Because the two side panels fold inward rather than sitting in a flat Z line, the three pictures face slightly toward each other, and the group reads as gathered instead of as three separate frames that happen to be joined. On a desk that difference is the whole reason to choose a trifold over a row of singles.

It suits photographs that belong together: three frames from one wedding, three ages of the same child, one holiday in three pictures. The sizes are standard ones, a 5 by 7 and two 4 by 6, so prints can be ordered from any photo service and go straight in without trimming or a mat to fill the gap.

Each frame is individually handcrafted in resin for a finished look on the ornate molding, with stain-resistant glass over the openings to keep fingerprints and dust off the prints. The black and gold finish is the dressed-up one, which is what makes it work on a desk or a cabinet among dark wood and brass rather than disappearing into it.
