The white and gold tree frame for a 4 by 6 print, with the bow picked out in gold against a pale cast finish.
Description
This is the quiet one of our three tree frames. The silhouette is identical, but in white with gold the tree is read as a shape rather than announced as a color, which is what a light room needs: on a cream mantel or a white shelf the frame becomes part of the surface and the photograph stays the subject. Gold on the bow gives it the single bit of contrast it needs.
It also behaves better in mixed company. Among pale ceramics, glass, candles and other light-finish frames, a white tree frame slots in where a saturated green would be the loudest object on the shelf, and it carries a snowy or a Scandinavian arrangement rather than a traditional red and green one.
The opening takes a standard 4 by 6 print with nothing cropped, portrait or landscape. Durable polyresin holds the cast detail, clear glass keeps dust and fingerprints off the print, and the back has both a fold-out easel and metal hanging hooks, with a backing that opens easily for a change of picture.
