A 5 by 7 rectangle finished in a single bronze with no contrasting trim, cast in polyresin with ornate relief.
Description
Most of our frames are a color with a gold edge. This one is a metal all the way across, and with nothing to contrast against, the ornate molding reads as one cast object rather than as decoration drawn onto a surface. On a desk that already carries a brass lamp and a leather blotter, this is the frame that belongs there.
Bronze is also the honest finish for black and white. A monochrome print in a colored frame always has to negotiate with it, while a bronze surround gives the photograph the only warmth in the composition and lets the grays stay gray. Portraits of grandparents and old press prints live well in it.
Durable polyresin with a hand-finished look for the fine detail, clear stain-resistant glass over the print, and an easy-open backing so swapping a photograph takes a minute rather than an evening. Easel stand for a desk, metal hanging hooks for a wall, vertical or horizontal.
