Vintage Ridged Rectangle Picture Frame, 5 x 7 in, Distressed Bronze

Description

Some people want the aged metal and none of the ornament, and this is that frame: straight sides, square corners, and a molding built from concentric ridges rather than carving. It is the one to buy several of, because a row of identical plain frames looks deliberate where a row of ornate ones looks like a collection.

The rectangle also takes the pictures that cannot afford to be cropped. A certificate, a page of children's artwork, a print bought as art, a group photograph with someone standing at the edge: nothing here narrows the opening or rounds it off, and a standard 5 by 7 goes in exactly as it came out of the envelope.

Distressed bronze supplies the age without supplying a pattern, lighter along the ridges and darker down in the hollows. The casting is durable polyresin finished by hand, the print is covered by stain-resistant glass, and the back carries an easel, metal hooks for either orientation and a panel that opens by hand.
