Description

Rooms painted in the soft clay, oat and putty colors of the last few years make black picture frames look like they were carried in from an office. Sage belongs to that palette instead of arguing with it, and at 5 by 7 there is enough of the finish on show for the agreement to be visible from the doorway.

The gold trim is the working part. Flat green on its own looks like painted board, but brushed gold along the raised edges puts the carved relief back in view and draws an outline around the frame, so it still registers against a pale wall. A photograph with foliage or outdoor light in it looks at home here.

Rectangular opening, so a standard 5 by 7 print needs no cropping. Polyresin with a hand-finished surface, clear stain-resistant glass against dust and fingerprints, an easel stand plus cast-in metal hooks, and a back that opens easily when the picture changes.
