A 4 by 6 frame in off white whose molding is cast as a run of waves around the opening.
Description
Off white on a light wall does not disappear, it changes from a color into a shape. With no contrast to carry it, what you see is the wave in the molding and the shadow it throws, which is why this finish works in bright rooms where a dark frame reads as a hole cut into the paint behind it.
A 4 by 6 is a convenient size for that, because it is the print everybody already has: a family snapshot, a holiday photograph, a picture sent from a phone to a lab. It goes into the rectangular opening uncropped, and the wave gives it a border that is doing something without demanding anything.
Cast in durable polyresin with a hand-finished look, so the ripples stay even and the pale finish does not fill them in, and fronted with clear stain-resistant glass. An easel stand and metal hooks are both built in, and the back opens without tools.
