Description
Corner ornament is the quieter way to build an ornate frame. With the sides left plain, a photograph that is already busy, a crowded group shot or a landscape with a lot going on in it, is not competing with carving along every edge, and the scrolls still tell you the frame was chosen rather than bought in a pack.
Blue with gold is the strongest color pairing in this part of the range, so the plain sides are doing useful work: they keep a saturated frame from becoming the only thing anybody looks at. The design is made with a 5 by 7 and an 8 by 10 opening, which means the same corner scroll can be repeated at two sizes in one arrangement.
Construction is the usual one: cast polyresin with a hand-finished look to keep the scrolls crisp, clear stain-resistant glass over the print, an easel stand as well as built-in metal hooks so it stands on a shelf or hangs vertically or horizontally, and a backing that opens without tools.
